Dog rescue inspires humanity

If you have not seen the heart warming story of the dog being rescued out of the L.A. river, I’m going to give it to you in an emotional nut shell. The dog was trapped in the rising waters of the Los Angeles river, near Central Station, Down town for nearly two hours in freezing water. The Los Angeles Fire Department sprang in to action to try to save the dog. This poor dog was feezing and scared and every moment the water was rising. A fire fighter lowered himself down and got ahold of the dog and secured him to the rescue line. This fire fighter took several hard bites from the scared dog while trying to secure him. Instead of reacting, the fire fighter took the bites in stride and remained focused on rescuing the dog. The L.A.F.D put the dog in an ambulance and took him to the vet. (oxygen mask over his little face and all) Okay, here comes the emotional part, I got teary eyed watching the rescue, I started to cry when I saw the brave fire man taking the dogs bites knowing that the dog is scared and helpless. I felt so proud of the city and our fire department for going to great lengths for the rescue. I’m thinking, you know we see all these horrible things about how terrible our world is, and then you see something like this that reminds us that people are naturally driven to do good. If we didn’t see stories like this from time to time, we would lose those moments that remind us that there is a lot of good in people.
